Tourist Kidnapped at Thai Airport
Schedule:
Last Lecture class on June 12.
Final Exam on Thursday June 14th
covers all since previous exam:
Chapters 6, 7, 8;  Thailand Troubles and Bukchon Troubles
No meetings on June 19 or 21.
1.  Choose a small nation, or a region / major province of a large
country, preferably a less-developed area --
NOT your own country!!
(international students can do a province of Korea, if that is your special interest).

2.  Imagine that you are a junior official of the Ministry of Tourism
of that nation -- and you are assigned by your minister to
develop a new Tourism Plan for that nation or province, under
the advising of the UNWTO.

3.   Research all-about your chosen region's current tourism-
industry situation, and what it needs to be greatly improved --
to upgrade, modernize in sustainable ways, attract more both
domestic & international tourists, provide more tourism jobs for
local people, improve facilities/services, make better use of the
existing natural & cultural resources, be proactive on any future
changes, exploit opportunities and reduce dangers, etc.

4.   Write a 10-page summary of your Plan as a Report to your
Boss, utilizing the UNWTO's steps & methods.  Pay attention
to the Appendicies of our main text that start on page 57!!!
Perhaps especially study Appendix 4 that begins on page 63.

5.  MS-Word (no HWP!!).  Cover-title-page with you name &
number prominent, and then ~10 pages of Report,
12-point font,
single-spaced, normal margins.   Charts and graphs are okay if
needed, but no photos!  Your original writing, if quotes and info
used, citations for all -- especially web-pages.
Do NOT just copy
a Plan from an web-page; if I find that then you will fail the course!

6.  Print on paper and submit in a plastic folder/cover, OR send
to [email protected] as an attachment, I don't care.

7.  Give this to Prof. Mason in class, or e-mail, by deadline --
Tuesday June 5th -- or before!

8.  Mason will judge you on English accuracy and vocabulary,
original
self-writing skills, professionalism and content quality;
and how well you follow all the above directions.
